Your Turn: What are your favorite ways to enjoy the Christmas season? Do you enjoy watching movies, baking cookies, sending out cards, decorating the Christmas tree, or all of the above?
I love decorating my tree I normally have a themed tree every year. Also love making christmas cookies. My boys especially love to help make them.
ReplyDeleteThank you for being part of this hop and merry christmas
Sounds like fun, Jeanette! I'm sure your boys love making (and eating!) those Christmas cookies. Some of my favorite Christmas treats have always been the green cornflake wreaths with cinnamon disk berries. 😊 Makes me think of my childhood and a special lady who made them for me.
Deletewe make pecan fingers and coconut macaroons.
DeleteLove watching christmas movies and listen to christmas music
ReplyDeleteYes, Christmas music! It's playing in our house and vehicle almost constantly. 🎄 Love all the old favorites and some of the new renditions. One of my old favorites is Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas (sung by Judy Garland) and a new favorite is How Many Kings by Downhere.
DeleteWatching Christmas movies and twinkling lights!
ReplyDeleteMy husband is the king of Christmas lights. We don't do extravagant decorations, but they are well-planned and meticulously executed each year. He does a fantastic job with clean and simple lines, pretty colors, and elegant accompaniment to our house. It's fun to drive around and look at lights. My parents once entered a lighting contest in town and took second place. It was a fun memory.
DeleteAll of the above! We're having a party this afternoon for our neighbors, so we've done all the decorating except the tree (so there's more room in the living room to mingle)
ReplyDeleteSounds like so much fun, Margaret! I love hosting get togethers. There's nothing better than a house full of friends and family. Especially at Christmas time. Have fun! 🎄
DeleteAll of the above! I just enjoy the smiles and laughter of family time and the fun of the holidays.
ReplyDeleteMe, too, Susan. Each year, as we added children, and now as they age, my favorite things about Christmas remain the same: family time, seeing them smile, hearing their laughter, and now reminiscing about Christmases past. It really is a wonderful time of year.
DeleteOne of my favorite things about Christmas season is all the sweet Hallmark movies. My husband laughs at me because I DVR just about everyone I can and then stay up till after 2 AM on weekends so I can watch them all. :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like our family! Even my father-in-law, who hasn't been to a movie theater since Dances With Wolves released, doesn't miss a single Hallmark movie! He keeps them on the DVR and watches them all throughout the year. 😊
DeleteAll of the above. I usually go overboard with Christmas. There is something about this season that brings out the child in me who believes in miracles and the goodness of people
ReplyDeleteSo beautifully said, Sonnetta! (And what a lovely name! Reminds me of a poem. 😊) Christmas is such a wonderful time of year. It makes me feel all those things, too.
DeleteAll of the above plus listening to Christmas music!
ReplyDeleteYes, I don't know how I forgot to add Christmas music. My husband starts playing it a couple weeks before Thanksgiving and we always have a good-natured banter as to whether or not it's too soon, but I truly do love it, and most of it is all about our Savior, so I can't really complain. 😊
ReplyDeleteI love baking and watching classic Christmas movies in TCM!
ReplyDeleteYou're speaking my language, Nicole!! TCM is my favorite channel on television. I'll take a good, classic film over any other, especially at Christmas. 🎄 I've already watched It's a Wonderful Life, Holiday Inn and Christmas in Connecticut. I can't wait to watched Remember the Night, starring Barbara Stanwyck and Fred MacMurray, which is my favorite.
DeleteI love watching movies and drinking got chocolate and going to craft fairs.a_stonecipher (at)yahoo (dot)com
ReplyDeleteSounds fun! We just had two Christmas craft fairs in town last weekend. Brought lots of people out to shop!
DeleteI love watching the Christmas movies & eating cookies
ReplyDeleteYum! Sounds like a lovely way to enjoy Christmas, Cynthia. 🎄
DeleteAdvent services, decorating the tree and watching movies. Not too much baking........
ReplyDeleteI hear you on the baking. I like to eat it, but I don't spend much time doing it. 😊 Advent services are the most important part of our Christmas celebration. Thank you for sharing, Paula.
DeleteListening to Christmas music & driving around to see the Christmas lights
ReplyDeleteI agree, Carol. Some of my favorite Christmas memories are driving around to look at lights. We probably aren't as intentional about that tradition with our own children, but we've been known to drive out of our way to see some pretty spectacular light displays. Such a wonderful part of Christmas.
DeleteListening to Christmas music & driving around to see the Christmas lights
ReplyDeleteMaking cookies with my mom, sister and niece while watching Christmas movies or listening to Christmas songs.
ReplyDeleteSounds lovely, Vanessa! A fun way to spend Christmas time together. 🎄
DeleteI like everything at Christmas time
ReplyDeleteI love listening to Christmas music, baking, decorating and attending church and school concerts.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy being with family and friends on Christmas Day
ReplyDeletebut ......
after they all leave, then it is "me" time.
