My First Book Cover!

I can hardly believe I'm writing this blog post today! Do you see that cover?!?! It has my name on it! And tucked inside the book, right in the midst of some incredible novellas, my first story will be printed. My story!

That's amazing to me, and a testimony to the faithfulness of God. He planted the dream, He watered it with His word, He sent sunshine upon the fertile soil of my heart, and He has made it grow.

Dreams really do come true, and this book is proof.

I began to dream of being a published author when I was nine years old, and twenty-five years later, I'm looking at my very first book cover.

Do you have a dream? I know you do. Is it dormant, or is it at the very forefront of all you say and do? Does your dream scare you, or empower you? Do you feel as if you'll never achieve what you've dreamed? Or are you certain it will one day be yours?

No matter where you're at on your dream journey, have hope. God placed the dream there like a tender little seed, and He wants to see it grow and flourish, until it produces fruit.

This book is the fruit of my dream--the first fruit. My dream is still in the process of maturing. But someday, with God's grace, I hope to bear an abundance of fruit from this dream.

Your Turn: I'd love to hear about your dream.

  4. My dream is much smaller then yours is. I want to be able to sew like my mom did. The best memory I have is my mom making my Christmas dress. She would bring me to hand cock fabric and let me pick out whatever pattern and fabric I wanted and make me my dress. I remember the white dress the most with 7 layers of fabric around the lace and a pink dress with puff sleeves and a white under skirt. Some day I hope to be as good as my mom at sewing.

    1. No dream is small or big. A dream is without limits. I hope you achieve this dream. The best dreams are those tied to a good memory as a child. :) Thank you for stopping by and sharing your dream with us.

  6. Hi, I just finished your story, Four Brides and a Bachelor, this morning. I enjoyed it so much. I was wondering, were you, hopefully, considering writing stories about the other 3 brides? I sure hope so!

  7. Hi, Carla! I'm thrilled you found my blog and that you enjoyed reading my story. You're not the first person to ask about Mary, Hazel, and Genevieve. I would love to write their stories. At present, I don't have any concrete plans, but I'm looking at a few options to get their stories out there. I revisit Belle Prairie in my second novella, A Groom for Josette, which just released in The Convenient Bride Collection from Barbour. It takes place three years later, and you learn a little more about what happens to the ladies, without giving away too many spoilers. I'll keep my blog and Author Facebook updated when I know more. Thanks for asking!
